Dr. Deepti Ganapathy awarded Michael Haley Travel Grant for the 74th Annual ICA Conference
This year, more than 300 applications were received for the ICA travel grant
6 March, 2024, Bengaluru: Dr. Deepti Ganapathy, Chairperson, Centre for Management Communication, and Area Chair, Management Communication, IIM Bangalore, has been awarded the Michael Haley Travel Grant for the 74th Annual ICA Conference, to be held in Gold Coast, Australia, from 20th to 24th June 2024.
This year, the 74th Annual ICA Conference is themed on, ‘Communication and Global Human Rights’. The International Communication Association aims to advance the scholarly study of human communication by encouraging and facilitating excellence in academic research worldwide. Dr. Deepti Ganapathy is leading a cross-national study with researchers at Centre for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University, City University of Hong Kong, University of Minnesota and Western Carolina University.
The paper titled, 'News Coverage of Climate Change as a Public Health Issue: A Decade-Long Analysis of News in the US, China, and India', has been selected to be presented in the Environmental Communication division. Riya Mishra, Academic Associate with the Centre for Management Communication, is one of the co-authors for the conference paper.
