Projects led/ initiated in district

  • Study of the Kota Dorian Handloom cluster: Conducted a SWOT analysis of the cluster, which revealed the challenges related to marketing and lack of education amongst weavers in the Kaithoon cluster.  

  • Socio-economic survey of Kota -Dorian handloom cluster: The survey was carried out to understand the socio-economic status of the cluster post-Covid-19, which helped in understanding factors that can be improved in order to uplift the cluster.  

  • Financial literacy workshop for SHG members: It was conducted in association with NRLM; 30+ women were trained to use online banking services.  

  • A study on the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the district: Helped in revealing how what factors turned Kota from an Industrial town in the 80s to an education town in the 1990s post liberalisation.  

  • Skill Young Kota wants: The study was done to understand the aspirations of school-going youth in the district as fellows are now working on NEP; it revealed a gross mismatch between student aspirations and the industrial scenario of the country.   

  • Tourism Plan for the district: Since the Hadoti circuit is the only region in Rajasthan where tourism is not active, the plan revolves around places to visit in Kota, how a tourist ecosystem can be created and what benefits will tourism bring for the city. 

  • A model to uplift the Kota Dorian handloom cluster: The project is called unlocking the potential of Kota Dorian; it is a strategy to tell how the handloom cluster can be lifted to uplift the socio-economic survey of the weavers.
