“While we have made tremendous strides in the field of education today, it is clear that there are many gaps that we have not filled. The scholars of ancient Indian universities were masters of learning, teaching, and preserving knowledge, and this seminar will help us distil the best of their practices. Our panel includes learned scholars, all of whom are coming together to share the wisdom of the ages.

“The degree of development of a country or society should not be judged by its GDP alone but also by its educational system’s robustness, openness, and fecundity, particularly in higher education. Measured by that yardstick, Ancient India represents one of the high points in the story of human development. It's a common heritage that every Indian can be proud of,” says a note from the Centre for Teaching & Learning.
