IIMB welcomes 75 global students to Exchange Term on campus
09 September: A total of 75 international students from 32 management schools in 17 countries were welcomed to the Exchange Program at IIMB, on September 04 (Wednesday). Of this number, 41 per cent of the students are from France.
IIMB has collaborated with reputed universities in countries like Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Taiwan. The universities include WU Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien/Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Aalto School of Economics (Finland), Audencia Business School (France), Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), SGH Warsaw School of Economics (Poland), and the likes from other countries.
Olivia Fabreschi, from the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden, said: “I am interested in exploring a new culture like India. I had positive reviews from previous exchange students about IIMB and the campus. I see myself gaining new knowledge in areas related to Indian and South East Asian economies and management here.”
Philipp Gagel, from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, said: “The impetus for my decision to choose IIMB was my interest to study in India. I was also convinced by the reputation of the university and the interesting description of courses. I expect interesting courses and a great time in Bangalore in general.”
The Office of International Affairs (OIA) at IIMB organized the orientation program for international students, who will be pursuing a three-month term course at IIMB as a part of Student Exchange Program (SEP).
IIMB has developed an extensive International Students Exchange Network to provide a cross-cultural exposure and a global perspective to the students. The Exchange Programme has become increasingly popular with the national and international students as they benefit from the opportunity to interact and collaborate with each other over diverse subjects.
Anuradha Shukla, from the OIA, welcomed the students to the institute and gave a brief introduction about the course they will be pursuing at IIMB as a part of the Exchange Program. Prof. Abhoy Ojha, Dean, Academic Programmes, Prof. M.S. Narasimhan, Dean, Administration, and Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Chair, Post Graduate Programme in Management, addressed the students about their respective department operations. Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Chair, Internal Committee, spoke about expected behaviour and code of conduct on campus, while Dr. Ravi Kumar and Ms. Sugami Ramesh familiarized the students with IIMB’s Health Centre.
