IIMBx hosts valedictory ceremony of 2022-23 batch of the Certificate Programme ‘Artificial Intelligence for Managers’ on 8th Sept
Altogether 78 learners from across different industries and organizations received their certificates
11 September, 2023, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore’s digital learning initiative IIMBx hosted the valedictory ceremony of the 2022-23 batch of the Certificate Programme: ‘Artificial Intelligence for Managers’ on 8th September 2023.
A total of 78 learners from across different industries, including IT Products/Services, Manufacturing, Finance, Education, E-Commerce, Legal, FMCG, etc., from organizations like SAP Labs, Amazon, TCS, Google, Ericsson, Capgemini, Dell Technologies, KPMG and others, received their certificates during the ceremony.
IIMB launched this online open certificate programme on the IIMBx platform last year, which is a blended long-duration programme of 16 months, comprising both campus as well as online sessions. It included 11 online modular courses.
The courses resulted from the expertise of IIM Bangalore’s faculty in combination with industry-oriented learning pedagogy, aiming to provide hands-on experience. The participant profile included Executives, Senior Executives, Managers, Senior Managers, Engineers, Senior Engineers, Team Leaders, Doctors, Navy Generals, Assistant Professors, AVP & Business Heads, Data Analytics and AI Leads, IT Leads, CFOs/Finance Controllers, VPs, Engineering Leads, Directors, Entrepreneurs, etc.
Programme Director Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Chairperson, Data Centre & Analytics Lab, Dean, Faculty and faculty in the Decision Sciences area, IIMB, said that this programme from IIMBx is probably one of the best ‘AI for Managers’ programmes not only in the country, but also across the world. “A team from SAP Labs which implemented the AI tool solution from this course has seen the financial impact on their business”, he added.
In her valedictory address, Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Chairperson, Digital Learning and faculty in the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management area, IIMB, said, “The combination of a corporate partner with an open group is a model which will become the reality how online education will transform. There will be cohorts from companies, open subscriptions, which will interact together on certain platforms, yet they would have their unique and distinguished learning.”
Chief Guest Rangaraj Srijamulu, Business Leader and Digital Evangelist, in his address shared that he himself has learnt different aspects of Artificial Intelligence from IIMB faculty. “The ‘AI for Managers’ programme from IIMBx is a very well structured course. AI tools like ChatGPT, AI art generators garnering mainstream attention — and this will continue to act as a technological innovator for the foreseeable future.”
The other Chief Guest Sindhu Gangadharan, SVP & MD, SAP Labs India and Head, SAP User Enablement, pointed out that knowledge itself is not power but applied knowledge is. “You have the power of applying knowledge the right way with this AI learning. In today’s era, AI is the common thread between innovation, imagination, thought leadership and all the incredible possibilities in terms of concrete usage of what goes in stock exchange.”
