IIMBx hosts valedictory ceremony of the first batch of the Hospital Management Programme on 22nd Sept

More than 100 learners of the one-year, online programme receive their certificates

25 September, 2023, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore’s digital learning initiative IIMBx hosted the valedictory ceremony of the ‘Professional Certificate Programme in Hospital Management’ Batch 1, on 22nd September 2023. More than 100 learners of the one-year, online programme received their certificates from Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIM Bangalore, who was the Chief Guest at the event. 

Dr. Shetty congratulated the healthcare professionals for embarking on this journey towards skill enhancement and on the successful completion of the programme. Emphasizing on the need for professional development for healthcare professionals, he said, “This is the need of the hour as the future healthcare industry in India will be drastically different, and courses like this would equip you all for this change as well as enable you to administer hospitals in a smooth and efficient manner.” He also emphasized the need for synergy between the stakeholders in healthcare delivery, especially hospitals, health insurance companies and patients. 

Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore, praised the learners and said, “I congratulate you all for your perseverance and commitment. Please apply the learnings in your future endeavors. Always look around you for new ideas and inspirations for unique solutions.”  

Prof. P D Jose of the Strategy area of IIMB, highlighted the importance of strong leadership to guide institutions. He also touched upon the correlation of leadership through influence and impact, along with empathy and trust. 

Prof. Haritha Saranga, Chairperson, Sustainability Taskforce and faculty of the Production & Operations Management area of IIMB, told the learners that it was a great beginning for them to be equipped with the knowledge and skills that the programme offered them. 

The Hospital Management Programme is a one-year programme delivered by IIMBx. Batch 2 of the programme was launched on 1st July 2023, inaugurated by Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, and has close to 100 participants.
