IIMB’s CSITM and INAIS aim to conduct a series of workshops on research methods over a period of 12 weeks, titled: ‘Rendezvous with Information Systems Researchers: A Workshop on Research in Action, Field Insights and Research Methods’. The workshops will focus on research in action, eliciting nuances of applying commonly used research methods and getting the field insights from scholars who have published influential research in top journals of the IS discipline.

The workshops are aimed to benefit Ph.D. and Master’s students, as well as young faculty members in Information Systems and related areas.

The objective of this workshop series is to give IS scholars a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes findings of the researcher, along with the challenges faced while conducting a particular study - experiences with different methods, the challenges in working with them, while also providing a glimpse of the nuances in the ramp-to-store, ideation-to-acceptance process of shaping a paper.

The workshops will cover Ethnography, Critical Realism, Field Experiments, Qualitative Comparative Analysis, Agent-based Simulation, System Dynamics, Survey Research, Econometric Modelling, SEM/PLS, Theory Building, Heterogenous Data, etc.

The weekly workshop webinars are being held through an online meeting platform on Tuesdays, starting from June 16th, 2020. Past speakers were Prof Andrew Burton-Jones (June 16th) and Prof Chrisanthi Avgerou (June 23rd).

The workshop coordinators are Professors Rahul Dé, faculty from the Information Systems area of IIM Bangalore, Saji Mathew from IIT Madras and Priya Seetharaman from IIM Calcutta.

Registration to the workshop is free. However, for a participation certificate issued by INAIS, a fee of Rs 2000 will be charged and the participant must have attended at least 75% of the sessions.

Participants attending the workshop are expected to have read the paper that the speaker will be presenting. For the convenience of participants, the papers to be presented by authors are shared in https://tinyurl.com/Rendezvous-Info-Sys
