Startup that helps working professionals find love

Go Gage

17 OCTOBER, 2019: GoGaga is a next-generation relationship app that connects users through their network of friends. It promises to bring a fresh take to the dating world, converting matches on the app to dates in real life. The method, say the founders, is relatable to real-life and eliminates fake profiles/bots.

Meet Kanodia, an IIT-D alumnus with an MBA, and Neha Kanodia quit their high-profile and well-paying jobs to start GoGaga.

From the time they came to NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore’s innovation and entrepreneurship development hub through the Launchpad program, GoGaga has been mentored by a team that has helped them streamline their business model.

“We were a free-to-use app when we joined the Launchpad program at NSRCEL. During our time here, we started a freemium model suitable for our business. Our mentors helped us price our product and sharpen our investor pitch. They underscored the role of client feedback in improving the product.”

Neha says, “A workshop by IIMB alumna Malavika Harita immensely improved our communication with users. Interacting with fellow startups is very helpful in overcoming hurdles. There is a beautiful “give-and-take” community that exists at NSRCEL. The workshops and lectures organized by the NSRCEL team help young startups immensely.”

GoGaga was part of Facebook’s bootstrapped incubation program, FbStart. They were shortlisted by YCombinator for the Winter 2018 batch and acknowledged as a promising start-up by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, in October 2018.

GoGaga was launched in April 2018 on Android and in August 2018, on iOS. The app has more than 40,000 users till date.
