Guru Purnima celebration sees naming of faculty lounge after Prof. C Manohar Reddy

31 July, Bengaluru: To commemorate the spirit of inquiry and discourse which every faculty colleague and alumnus remembers Professor Manohar Reddy by, IIM Bangalore organised a small but special programme this evening.

Former faculty members, current faculty, the four Deans, alumni and staff participated in the event that began with an address on the Institute by Director Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, followed by an introduction to the Golden Jubilee celebrations at IIMB by Golden Jubilee Committee Chairperson Prof. Abhoy K Ojha, and culminated in the inauguration of the Faculty Lounge named after Prof. Manohar Reddy.

IIMB also bid adieu to Professor Ramaswamy P Iyer, who was faculty in the Finance & Control area at the Institute between 1975 and 1988. Prof. Iyer passed away on July 28, 2023. He was deeply committed to institution building and, during his service, he held several administrative positions at IIMB such as Finance Area Coordinator, Member of the Admissions Committee, and Warden of the PGP Hostel, among others. Prof. Iyer was also actively involved in MDP and Consultancy assignments. His faculty colleagues and alumni shared memories of him at the meeting.

Later in the evening, Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan felicitated former faculty with a memento which is a framed special postal cover, commemorating the school’s fifty glorious years, released by India Post. 

The program was hosted by Dean Alumni Relations and Development Prof. Sourav Mukherji.
