Data Centre & Analytics Lab to conduct 10th edition of Faculty Development Programme on ‘Machine Learning with Business Applications’ from 20th to 25th May

Registrations open till 10th May; joint certificate from DCAL, IIMB and Analytics Society of India on programme completion 

7 May, 2024, Bengaluru: The Data Centre and Analytics Lab (DCAL) at IIM Bangalore will conduct the tenth edition of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP), themed on, Machine Learning with Business Applications, from 20th May to 25th May 2024, at the institute campus. 

At present, DCAL is accepting applications for the same and the process will remain open till 10th May 2024. For registration, programme content and other information, please visit: https://dcal.iimb.ac.in/upcoming-events.html 

The FDP is suitable for faculty who are planning to teach Analytics courses and also for those who are already teaching and would like to get introduced to teaching Analytics using the case study approach. It will also be suitable for Doctoral students in relevant areas of study. 

During the programme, participants will be introduced to Machine Learning algorithms with their applications, using case studies from diverse industries. The FDP also has a primer on Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). The programme will drive theory and hands-on approach blending business context, technology and data science. The FDP is designed to provide in-depth knowledge that can be used for fact-based decision making. 

The programme with industry-relevant curriculum will be delivered by experienced instructors from industry and academia. Participants will have access to real-world bestselling case studies published by faculty at Harvard Business Publishing. They will gain hands-on learning after which they will get joint certificates from DCAL, IIMB and Analytics Society of India (ASI).  

The instructors of the programme include Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Dean Faculty, Chairperson Data Centre & Analytics Lab and faculty of the Decision Sciences area of IIM Bangalore; Kumar Rahul, engineering graduate from National Institute of Technology, Jaipur and IIM Bangalore alumnus; Manaranjan Pradhan, Adjunct Faculty and IIM Bangalore alumnus; Naveen Kumar Bhansali, Adjunct Faculty and IIM Bangalore alumnus; Shailaja Grover, IIM Bangalore alumna, and Sharada Sringeswara, IIM Bangalore and BITS Pilani alumna. 

Attendance on all days of the FDP is mandatory. Certificate of Participation will be awarded on the last day of the programme.
