Lakshya 2K24 Unites Defense Leaders and Industry Titans at IIM Bangalore
Executive Education Programmes at IIMB brings 50+ defense and industry leaders for Business Management Program for Defense Officers
15 July, 2024, Bengaluru: Fostering collaboration between defense establishments and industry representatives, the Executive Education Programmes Office at IIM Bangalore hosted Lakshya 2024 on 14 July 2024. The year’s theme, ‘Diversity and Future of Work’, brought together over 50 defense personnel and industry leaders from across India for discussions on subjects including workforce transformation, inclusive leadership and the integration of Generative AI tooling across sectors.
Mr. Sundar Raju, Chairman, Atria Group; Mr. J A Chowdary, Chairman & Founder, ISF and Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Chairperson, inaugurated the session. Prof. Padmini addressed the audience; welcomed the diverse panel of delegates, speakers and participants, thus commencing Lakshya 2K24.
The session began with a ‘Wisdom Exchange’ by Mr. J A Chowdary, Chairman and Founder of International Startup Foundation. Mr. Chowdary drew on his extensive experience as Former Special Chief Secretary & IT Advisor to Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to deliver an enlightening talk. It was followed by a session on ‘The Changing Yin Yang of Talent Management’ by Sunder Raju, Chairman, Atria Group.
Global Capability Centre (GCC) leaders discussed ‘The Talent War: Strategies for Winning Top Performers’, highlighting how military personnel can make it into the corporate world. They spoke of the adaptable, disciplined and malleable skills that make defense officers valuable corporate assets with crucial problem-solving skills.
The Diversity and Inclusion panel featuring leaders from firms including Stanton Chase, Xceedance, Shenzyn, Fime, Miles Education and Torry Harris discussed the value in building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
The Industry Leaders Visionary Panel brought together speakers from IFIN Global Group, Omnicell, Wells Fargo, Pattern and CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories to discuss, ‘Building a Culture of Innovation and Leveraging Technology ‘. Speakers showcased their vision for creating a workforce that isn’t only tech-competent but has the propensity to handle complex and evolving situations. They also highlighted skills such as agility and collaboration as “essential”, given the widespread usage of innovative Gen AI tools across sectors and disciplines.
Delegates from Tally Solutions, Valtech India, Kyndryl, Xperi Inc and UrbanPiper led the Learning and Development roundtable, covering ‘Future Proofing the Workforce using Upskilling and Reskilling Strategies’.
The Prime Talk by Vishwanadh Raju, Head TA Operations, ANSR Global observed, ‘Skills for Future Leaders in the Age of Digital Disruption’. Mr. Raju addressed that instead of restricting themselves, defense people should diversify their expertise with their unique ability to build solutions from the ground up using a disciplined mind.
The Call-to-Action session was led by Vijay S J, Founder and Chairman, Salmon Leap Ventures, hoM Mission India. Mr. Vijay spoke on Veteran Hiring, calling it a win-win for all.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Col K Joshil Raj marking the successful end of the Business Management Program.
The event also provided a platform for defense professionals to exchange ideas, network extensively and explore collaboration opportunities to equip transitioning into global corporate leaders.
