The session was led by Sunil Kumar of BigEndian and P.H. Vijaya Deepti of TATA AIG Insurance
September 25, 2025, Bangalore: The second-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) students at IIM Bangalore, enrolled in the Leadership in the Digital Era (LDE) course led by Prof. Gopal Mahapatra, OB & HRM area, attended an engaging guest lecture on the topic ‘AI and its Impact on Work and Leadership’ on 24 September 2025. The session was delivered by Sunil Kumar, IIMB 1995 alumnus, and Founder of BigEndian Semiconductors, and P.H. Vijaya Deepti, Board Member at Tata AIG Insurance, who brings with her over three decades of leadership experience across industries.
Sunil Kumar brought over 25 years of experience in strategy and technology across startups and multinational corporations to the discussion. Vijaya Deepti serves on the Board of Directors at Tata AIG General Insurance Co. Ltd. and contributes to its Risk Management and Audit Committees.
The lecture explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping organizations, redefining leadership, and transforming the future of work. The speakers highlighted that one of the most valuable professional skills lies in the ability to define problems clearly and reach their root causes, an approach that enables long-term, effective solutions grounded in deep understanding rather than assumptions.
The lecture left students inspired to embrace AI not just as a technological force but as a catalyst for continuous learning, responsible leadership, and sustainable impact.
They emphasized the critical role of continuous learning, encouraging students to not only refine their strengths but also recognize areas where they fall short and focus on intentional growth. The session introduced the concept of learning agility, the capacity to adapt, unlearn, and relearn in a rapidly evolving digital world.
The discussion also underscored the importance of cultural awareness, adaptability, and social responsibility in becoming successful global professionals. To create meaningful impact, leaders must combine technical knowledge with empathy, collaboration, and a deep sense of responsibility toward society. The session concluded with a powerful reminder about the importance of giving back through social service as an integral part of both personal and professional growth.
