Centre for Public Policy at IIMB and Omidyar Network host workshop at IIMB on July 23

30 June: The Centre for Public Policy at IIMB and the Omidyar Network will host a workshop on ‘One way ticket - New migrants, emerging settlements and stickiness with Bengaluru Slums’ at IIMB on July 23, 2018.

The workshop, led by Prof. MS Sriram, faculty, Centre for Public Policy, will report on a seven-year investigation of slums in Bangalore using a combination of satellite image analysis and detailed on-the-ground inquiries with a total of more than 4,500 slum households.

The workshop will run from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, on July 23, in the Auditorium at IIMB in three sessions: 

  • Introduction and Overview (30 minutes)
  • The utility of satellite image analysis for slum knowledge and slum policies (75 minutes)
  • A continuum of slums with diverse living conditions and five pointers for a better slum policy (75 minutes)
