Thesis Abstract:
Title: Micro-foundations of IT Agglomeration – Alternate Theories
Paper 1 – In my first paper, I look at modelling the preferences of skilled workers for location choice and take the IT industry as a case study. I am interested in the formation of urban clusters. I use a stated preference survey to understand at the micro-level what drives individual preferences for cities and how this contributes to well-being.
Paper 2 – In my second paper, I look at deriving a wage equation to understand the wage dispersion of high skilled workers. I look at modelling earnings dynamics over career progression and domain.
