Student Welfare Office (SWO) at IIMB
Student Welfare Office (SWO) at IIM Bangalore is a dedicated resource for promoting overall well-being of students with spirit of inclusivity and connectedness. Our holistic approach has: Focussed wellness activities spanning physical, emotional, social, community, and spiritual spheres; proactive multi-channelled support systems; readily accessible mental health services in online and on campus modes.
SWO@IIMB also functions as nodal point of contact for non-academic concerns or requests. The assurance of a confidential and safe space is intended to encourage support seeking behavior in students.
SWO@IIMB is led by a faculty member as the Chairperson (Student Welfare) and supported by a staff member.
SWO functions:

- Facilitate experiential activities and workshops for wellness, life skills, and healthy lifestyles
- Provide confidential, safe space for sharing challenges or requests

MITR Peer Support (for PGP 1 students)
All PGP students entering the 2-year MBA program are assigned a MITR buddy at the start of the academic year. MITR buddy is a senior student trained by professionals to provide emotional support, peer connect, and mentoring. All MITR members meet the mentees regularly and are available via email, WhatsApp and regular in-person meetings. The MITR chief co-ordinator for 2025-26 is Ms Shruti Vishnubhatla and can be contacted at iimbmitr.cc@iimb.ac.in.
Anti-ragging help at IIMB
A student can report an incident of ragging by writing to antiragging@iimb.ac.in. The anti-ragging committee members will ensure immediate steps to address the concern raised.
Students can also report through National Anti-Ragging Monitoring Agency Centre for Youth (C4Y)

Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Grievance Redressal Committee
Discrimination based on identities arising from gender, religion, caste, language, differential ability, sexual orientation, etc can be brought to the notice of the D&I Grievance Redressal Committee. The committee is headed by a faculty member and can be contacted at digrc@iimb.ac.in

IIMB has partnered with 2 professional mental health service providers:

Amaha
Amaha provides 24*7 helpline, online and on-campus counselling services, clinic visits, and psychiatrist consultations (when required).
Amaha also hosts communities for people with common personal and mental health issues (similar to support groups) in a confidential and connecting space.
All services are free of cost for IIMB community including students, faculty and staff 24*7 helpline

- Options are Audio | Video | Clinic visits
- Face to face campus sessions: 6 days a week, online booking link is shared with all students via email
- For self-care, Amaha app is available on Play Store and Apple Store for download. The app includes expert-curated activities, trackers, and articles.
- Psychiatry consultations are arranged by Amaha team on recommendation of a therapist in confidentiality and consent of a student.
YourDOST counselling services
- YourDOST services include multi-modal online counselling sesions in chat, audio, video format. YourDost also provides Self-Help Tools via their app available on Play Store and Apple Store

1. Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking across States (Tele-Manas)
Tele-Manas is a government of India initiative under the National Tele Mental Health Programme (NTMHP). It provides a toll-free helpline offering various mental health services. NIMHANS Bangalore acts as apex center for this initiative.

2. NIMHANS Centre for Well-Being

The centre is located close to IIMB campus. This facility “is designed to be available to share your thoughts, feelings, problems, concerns etc with expert teams from NIMHANS, and mental health professionals who are available during working hours on all days. ..It was started with the idea that while there is much focus on treating severe mental disorders, there is not much awareness about minor mental disturbances that could be a part of anybody’s daily life”
