Excellence in Corporate Training
Programme Directors : Professor Sourav Mukherji and Professor Arun Pereira
Programme Dates : 19-Feb-2020 to 20-Feb-2020
Programme Venue : IIMB Campus
Programme Overview :
Research from the fields of cognitive science and education have much to offer corporate training programs. Specifically, training programs can be made more effective and efficient if trainers apply concepts of learning such as encoding, spacing, interleaving, and chunking in the design and delivery of training programs. Further, to better engage trainees, trainers can learn to author “customized” content by writing mini cases and short briefs, and use technology to involve trainees with the help of in-program and pre-program activities. Additionally, with the use of active learning tools like peer-instruction, reflective-inquiry, and action-planning, training transfer (the transfer of learning from the program to the workplace) can become the expected norm after any program. Finally, trainers can learn to assess post-training impact, and evaluate the return on investment of training, so that training programs’ value-for-business and value-for-money are addressed.
