IIMB hosts panel discussion on Budget 2018 on Feb 1
11 January, 2018, Bengaluru: As in the last six years, this year too IIM Bangalore will host a panel discussion on the Union Budget, at the institute auditorium from 06.00 pm onwards on February 1, 2018 (Thursday), post the Budget being presented by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley earlier in the day.
The panel of industry experts and academicians analyzing the Union Budget will be moderated by Professor Charan Singh from the Economics & Social Sciences area of IIMB. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
This would be the last complete budget of the current Central Government, and therefore very special, because it will have implications for the assembly polls in 2018 in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan and Tripura, and most importantly, for Lok Sabha elections expected in March/April 2019.
The panellists are Jagdish Ahuja, former President, Bangalore Stock Exchange, and Founder, Capital Market Academy, Wealth Mastery Trainings; S Raghavan who is currently on the Board of Surin Automotive Pvt Limited and Former Board of L&T Finance, B.P. Rao, member of the Panel of Arbitration in National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE); and V K Viswanathan is the Chairman of the Board of Bosch Limited. The panel will be moderated by Prof. Charan Singh.
