11 August, 2017, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) at IIM Bangalore will host a research seminar on ‘Valuing Peace: The Effects of Financial Market Exposure on Votes and Political Attitudes’, on August 25 (Friday), 2017, from 2:30 pm, at Classroom C13. The talk will be delivered by Dr. Moses Shayo, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Moses Shayo is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Center for the Study of Rationality. His main research interests are in Political Economy and Economics and Psychology. He has been interested in understanding the empirical determinants and implications of social identification, and in developing a theoretical framework where identities are endogenous. He has used this framework to study income redistribution, nationalism and ethnic conflict. He is also interested in how economic integration, and in particular financial markets, can help reduce conflict.
