I am Prateek from the Finance and Accounting area. The key focus area of my research is the evaluation of mutual fund performance in India and identifying various factors that play a role in influencing their performance. With multiple fund houses offering numerous mutual fund schemes, coupled with the industry's explosive growth in the past two decades, performance assessment of mutual funds is a matter of great significance. My dissertation is one of the most comprehensive studies on this subject, as it covers data over a period of more than 30 years. I also highlight several research gaps in the literature on Indian mutual funds, which can provide directions for future research in this area

My research interests include stock price crash risk, corporate finance, and corporate disclosures. In my thesis, I broadly ask what types of firms are more likely to experience stock price crashes

I am Arnab Biswas, a fifth-year doctoral student in Finance & Accounting Area. My research interest lies in the intersection of Macro and Finance, typically in the questions we encounter in day-to-day life like “how much Central Bank will hike interest rates, government budgets, growth, unemployment, etc. and its spill-over to financial markets and resultant economic fluctuations. In my current research at IIMB, I am exploring the nature of term premium, i.e., excess return commanded by investors and fund managers in the long-term, typically 10-year Indian Government Debt Market

I am Rajeev Agarwal, a doctoral student in the Finance & Accounting area at IIM Bangalore. My research interest is the Indian financial derivatives market. I am currently working on establishing the potential impact which major regulatory changes and the exponential increase in the retail traders have on the Indian derivatives market.

My thesis provides an empirical investigation into the role of creditor rights on the behaviour of firms, institutional investors and wilful defaults.

In my research, I use quantitative data on purchase obligations and contingent liabilities from the annual reports of a sample of US companies. The findings in my research suggest that disclosures in financial statements provide useful information to investors
