Creation and Strengthening of the District Skills Committee: Reconstituted the DSC and held orientations for the sub-committees formed, each looking at Planning and Monitoring, Mobilisation and Capacity Building, Industry Engagement and Entrepreneurship, and Rural Transformation respectively.

Aspirational Mapping of Youth: Surveyed 5 girls and 5 boys in Class XI-XII, from 4 schools per block, to capture the aspirations and skilling requirements of youth in educational institutions. Similarly, interviewed 20 women and 20 men from each block, part of the Village Employment Councils, to capture demand from youth engaged in wage employment, and conducted a survey on 10 PMEGP beneficiaries from each block, to understand the requirements of the youth in self employment.

Drafted the District Skill Development Plan for 2020 and 2021: Through an in dept situational analysis of the skill ecosystem and a skill gap analysis, identified priorities for the district’s skill ecosystem, and estimated costs and resources for the same.

Developed the Block Action Plans under FOCUS program: FOCUS is the largest state agricultural scheme that focusses on bottom up collectivisation of farmers for upscaling production and marketing systems. Clustered all 723 villages in the district, identified primary products in each cluster and set timelines for mobilisation through partner NGOs.

Impact Assessment Report of Covid-19 on Lower Primary Schools: Submitted a report to the DC, covering aspects on method of delivery, achievement levels, status of midday meals, teacher capacity building, etc. Interviewed school management, teachers, parents and students from each block.

CSR Proposal for Setting up SLRM Unit: After being declared the cleanest town in Northeast, waste segregation and collection was initiated in Nongstoin. Developed a proposal for training a local SHG for running the system, setting up segregation and storage sheds, and acquiring trucks and garbage bins.

Coordinated Convergence of Stakeholder Engagements towards Promotion of Ginger Clusters: Set up Block Core Groups to promote 47 ginger producer groups in West Khasi Hills. Identified possible areas to converge funds and actions between NABARD, Horticulture department, HFU, MBDA, ICAR-KVK and NSSS. Establishing 6 local collection centres, locations of 4 farmers’ market and setting up a processing unit were discussed and approved.

Assisted in Conceptualisation of the One Skill One Talent program: OSOT is an upcoming scheme in Meghalaya that intends to offer training in schools in terms of employment oriented skills. Conducted a state wide mapping of potential skills, talents, infrastructure and resources, for feasibility assessment.
