‘Hum Ek Hain’ anthem debuts at IIMB on World Disability Day
Honoring strength and inclusion, launch on 3 December brings together singers, students, staff, and faculty
4 December, 2024, Bengaluru: In celebration of World Disability Day on 3 December, From Mug to Mike, in collaboration with IIM Bangalore, released the ‘Hum Ek Hain’ anthem, which champions inclusion and diversity.
The track, composed by Sunil Koshy, brought together specially-abled singers and students to emblemize the spirit of togetherness, and serve as a reminder that ‘we are all one’.
The song and the accompanying music video were launched at IIMB by Prof. Rajluxmi V Murthy, Chairperson of Student Welfare and faculty member from the Decision Sciences area. Students and staff of IIMB attended the launch with singers of the anthem who shared their experiences of recording and shooting for the video.
IIM Bangalore is devoted to building robust systems of accessibility and inclusion that ensure equal access to all. By partnering with students with special needs, the Office of Disability Services (ODS) breaks barriers, and rectifies inaccessible practices, creating lasting structures for equitable educational experiences, that enrich the overall and everyday wellbeing of the student.
The Institute’s disability inclusion framework has been recognized with the NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Award 2012, for developing 'Equal Opportunity Policy', ‘Reasonable Accommodation Procedure’, procuring 'Assistive Technology' and conducting focused initiatives for Persons with Disabilities.
