Prof. M Jayadev & Prof. Debojyoti Das bring nuance to UAE’s industry landscape

7 December, 2024, Bengaluru: The BPIM-Dubai program, led by Finance & Accounting area faculty—Prof. M Jayadev and Prof. Debojyoti Das, offered students the opportunity to experience Dubai’s vibrant economy up close. Through insightful sessions and industry interactions, participants gained a nuanced understanding of the region's business environment.

The program began with a session delivered by Ms. Sherin Nazeer, Digital Technology and Innovation - Agile Release Train Lead, Etihad. Her expertise in aviation lent to discussions on the sector soaring as a key economic driver given substantial contribution to Dubai’s GDP, catalytic impact of tourism facilitated by aviation and allied sectors and expected projections over the coming years.

Next, Prof. Arijit Sikdar, University of Wollongong, Dubai, took the cohort through the challenges and opportunities of ‘Doing Business in the UAE’. His comprehensive analysis helped students witness unique aspects of Dubai’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and ways in which to navigate global collaborative partnerships.
