IIMB Director Dr. Sushil Vachani holds a discussion with the Chief Guest of the book launch, Consul General Jörn Rohde, German Consulate in Bangalore, other German scholars and contributors of the book, as well as IIMB faculty, before the formal book launch.

 

Dr. S Nayana Tara, Professor, Centre for Public Policy, IIMB, who is one of the contributing authors, says the book provides pathways for policy making in the area of skill development and entrepreneurship, during her welcome address at the book launch in IIMB on February 12, 2016.

 

Professor Matthias Pilz, University of Cologne, Germany and editor of the book, ‘India: Preparation for the World of Work - Education System and School to Work Transition’, delivers the keynote address during the book launch. He said the book covers the full spectrum from pre-vocational education to job-related academic education and from standardized ITI-programmes to informal learning in work-place settings and also to lifelong learning.

The event’s Chief Guest, Consul General Jörn Rohde, German Consulate in Bangalore, says the book is an endeavor of Germany partnering with India to bridge the skill gap in the professional arena in India.
