PGP team wins second position in the first-ever national governance case competition, ‘The Governance Challenge’

11 October, 2022, Bengaluru: A team comprising Siddharth Parmar, Pallavi Bagul and Sakshi Yadav, all students of IIM Bangalore’s two-year fulltime MBA – the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP 2021-23), has won the second position at ‘The Governance Challenge’. The summit of the event was held on 1st October 2022.
The Governance Challenge is an independent ecosystem initiative. In its inaugural year - TGC 2022 is supported by the Government of Haryana. Siddharth Parmar, Pallavi Bagul and Sakshi Yadav received the award from the Haryana Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar. The award includes a Certificate of Participation, a cash component and PPI opportunities.
The contest saw six finalist teams making a 10-minute pitch to a panel headed by the Chief Minister and comprising senior bureaucrats, impact investors and industry leaders. Each team was assigned two mentors. The mentors helped the teams sharpen their solutions for the final pitch. The summit was a full-day event organized in Haryana. Before the summit, the finalist teams got to experience a curated two-day field immersion visit to understand governance better.
The Governance Challenge (TGC) is India’s first national governance case competition for 25 premier business and public policy schools in India. TGC is a platform for students to pitch their solutions to complex challenges that impact millions of citizens. TGC offers a chance to solve a complex at-scale governance challenge in India; pitch solutions to the Chief Minister of a state; interact with government decision-makers and marquee impact investors in India; be mentored by IAS officers and industry leaders, and experience governance in a two-day immersion visit.
Students from eligible campuses could participate in teams of three in TGC 2022. The contest had three rounds focused on a governance case study. Teams were provided support through the rounds with reference material, buddies for feedback, mentoring, etc. to enable them to come up with game-changer solutions in the context of governance.
