CTL hosts development programme on project management for educators of Sherubtse College, Bhutan

The FDP led by IIMB faculty was held from 27 to 31 January 2025

2 February, 2025, Bengaluru: The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at IIM Bangalore, which aims to disseminate a robust understanding of evolving best practices in teaching and learning, recently conducted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Project Management and Digital Marketing from 27 to 31 January, 2025. The programme was designed for five faculty members from the Project Management department at Sherubtse College, affiliated to the Royal University of Bhutan, and was tailored in alignment with Bhutan’s evolving educational landscape.

CTL Chairperson and Programme Director Prof. Sushanta K Mishra, OB&HRM area, welcomed the participants and delivered the opening address on ‘Participant-centric Teaching’. Incorporating various in-class activities, interactive storytelling, and relevant examples to facilitate experiential learning, the sessions broadly explored the topics of ‘Project Management’ and ‘Digital Marketing’.

Prof. Nishant K Verma, Production & Operations Management, and Prof. Ananth Krishnamurthy, Decision Sciences area, introduced the participants to various aspects of project management, including project risk management, constraints management, decision tree approach, and process mapping. Marketing area faculty Prof. Arpita Pandey and Prof. G Shainesh covered essentials strategies for digital marketing, programmatic advertising, SEO, and social media marketing.

The participating faculty members also had engaging interactions with IIMB Director Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Dean (Faculty), and Prof. Mukta Kulkarni, Dean (Programmes), to explore potential academic collaborations.

A notable feature of the programme was the Bengaluru Darshan, a guided city tour organized by team CTL, offering insights into the city's cultural heritage and cuisine.
