IIMB Professor is being honored for his pioneering contributions in empowering local rural communities

8 July, 2024, Bengaluru: Professor Trilochan Sastry from the Decision Sciences area will be felicitated by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) for his significant contributions in the field of agriculture by providing support and uplifting the livelihood of farmers at grassroots level and for his contribution to the society as a whole.

The Apex Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the felicitation ceremony on the 47th AGM of BCIC on August 2, 2024.

Professor Sastry, B. Tech IIT Delhi, MBA IIM Ahmedabad and PhD MIT, is a former Dean of IIM Bangalore. His areas of interest include Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Rural Development, Governance, Software, Automobile Industry, and Social Entrepreneurship. He is also the Founder & Secretary of the Centre for Collective Development (CCD) and the Founder of Farmveda, two social ventures that directly benefit over 43000 farmers.

Prof. Sastry has consulted for various corporate, government, and international agencies on wide-ranging issues such as corporate strategy, restructuring of organizations, evaluation of large development programmes, cooperatives/producer companies, and governance.
