Institute / Centres Awards

  • The Entrepreneurship and Innovation hub of IIM Bangalore – the NSRCEL has been ranked third among India’s top 45 Technology Incubators by the magazine, Entrepreneur India, in September 2017.
  • IIMB received the 'Asia Pacific HRM Congress Awards 2017' Award for being an Organization with Innovative HR Practices, in September 2017.
  • IIMB won the Rajbhasha Award for the year 2016-17 for the effective implementation of the Official Language, in July 2017.
  • IIMB’s innovation and incubation hub, the NSRCEL, was selected by NITI Aayog to receive INR 10 crore scale-up support under the Atal Innovation Mission in February, 2017. NSRCEL is one of the six established incubation centres in the country to receive this funding.

Recent Faculty Awards (2016-17)

  • Prof. P C Narayan was selected for MHRD’s Teaching Innovation Award 2016 for his use of MOOCs in a flipped classroom. The award was announced in October, 2017.
  • Prof. Rejie George Pallathitta’s co-authored paper was among 6 finalists of the Carolyn Dexter Award. The All-Academy award is given to the paper that best meets the objective of internationalizing the Academy of Management. The list was announced in August, 2017.
  • A Tata Group case, co-written by Prof. J. Ramachandran, won top honours at 2016 EFMD Case Writing Competition in Berlin, Germany. The award was announced in June 2017.
  • Prof. Deepak Malghan won the Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao Award in Social Sciences for his “original research in the field of Human Geography and Ecology”. The award was announced in February, 2017.
  • Prof. A Damodaran won the Dewang Mehta Award for extending economics research to IPRs, Creative Industry and Sustainable Development. The award was announced in November, 2016.
  • Prof. Mukta Kulkarni won the Journal Best Paper Award in 2016 for her paper ‘Overqualification, Mismatched Qualification, and Hiring Decisions: Perceptions of Employers’ selected by Personnel Review’s editorial team as the Outstanding Paper in the 2016 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence.
  • Prof. Preeti Krishnan Lyndem won the Best Paper Award in the Retailing and Distribution Track, Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy 2016 Conference, New Zealand, for her paper, ‘Beware of Strangers...Unless You Are Looking At Making Connections For Shopping Tips’.
  • Profs. Sai Yayavaram, Rejie George Pallathitta and Trilochan Sastry won the Distinguished Paper Award in the annual meeting of the Academy of Management, 2016 Conference, for their paper ‘Effect of Political Connections on Profit Persistence: Evidence from India’.
  • Prof. Srinivasan Rangan was awarded 2nd Best Paper Prize for his paper ‘Foreign Institutional Investor Trading and Future Returns: Evidence From an Emerging Economy’ at the International Conference on Financial Markets and Corporate Governance, IIT Chennai, 2016.
  • Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan was given the Distinguished Alumna Award by the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) in December 2016.
