Research & Publications to host Summer Research Methodology Workshop 2025 from 19-24 May
Last date to submit applications is 20th April; workshop to comprise two tracks and panel discussion
21 March, 2025, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) will host the Summer Research Methodology Workshop 2025 from 19th to 24th May 2025, at the IIM Bangalore campus. The workshop, which will be hosted in recognition of the importance of research in today’s academic world, is aimed to benefit academic researchers, specifically PhD students and early career faculty at management institutes/business schools, in the area of research and publication. The six-day workshop, which follows a successful edition of the Winter Research Methodology Workshop held in December 2024, will be anchored by IIMB faculty.

Important Dates
The last date to submit applications is 20th April 2025. The names of shortlisted candidates will be released on 1st May 2025. Shortlisted candidates, who confirm their registration with programme fee by 7th May 2025, may avail the early-bird offer.
Content and Structure
The summer workshop will consist of two tracks – Track 1 will include dedicated sessions on Qualitative Comparative Analysis and Network Analysis, whereas Track 2 will consist of dedicated sessions on Event Study Methodology, Applied Econometrics and Game-Theoretic Modelling and Analysis. However, both the tracks will include common sessions on qualitative and quantitative methods, experimental design and meta-analysis. The workshop will also feature a panel discussion with a focus on research and paper development towards publication. Candidates will receive a Certificate of Participation from IIM Bangalore on successful completion of the workshop.

DCAL to host 11th edition of Faculty Development Programme on ‘Machine Learning with Business Applications’
The FDP will be held at IIMB from 19-24 May 2025
8 May 2025, Bengaluru: The Data Centre and Analytics Lab (DCAL) at IIM Bangalore will host the 11th edition of its Faculty Development Programme on ‘Machine Learning with Business Applications with primer on Generative AI and Agentic AI’ from 19 to 24 May, at the IIMB campus.
The Faculty Development Program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of Machine Learning Algorithms including Generative AI and Agentic AI, that can be used for fact-based decision-making, problem-solving using real-life case studies. The curriculum integrates theory and practical application in an effort to enable participants to explore the intersection of business strategy, technology, and data science.
Doctoral students, faculty who teach, and those aspiring to teach in the areas of AI, ML, and Business Analytics using the case method, are invited to apply. Registrations will close on 12 May 2025.

Programme Objective
AI and ML are important skills that every faculty in the data science, analytics and AI domain will require to excel in their profession. During this FDP, we will discuss various ML algorithms with its applications using Indian case studies across industries such as e-commerce, healthcare, IT, manufacturing, retail, supply chain, and sports. The participants will also learn core principles behind Neural Networks & Deep Learning and how to train and optimize neural networks.

Learn to analyse data to gain insights using ML algorithms.

About the author:
Rahul De', B. Tech. from IIT Delhi, MBA from FMS, University of Delhi, and PhD from University of Pittsburgh, has held significant administrative positions at IIM Bangalore, including Dean (Programmes). Prof. De' began his academic career as a doctoral student at the AI in Management Laboratory of the Katz Graduate School of Business, where he specialized in AI, Information Systems, and Operations Research. As part of the course, he learned under Herbert Simon, already a Nobel Laureate in Economics and co-founder of the field of AI, and Bruce Buchanan and Harry Pople, pioneers in developing Expert Systems in medicine and healthcare. Subsequently, he served as a professor at several business departments in the USA before joining IIM Bangalore. He taught AI, Information Systems, and related courses for more than two decades at IIM Bangalore and business schools across Europe to management students and corporate executives, and guided doctoral students.
Dr De' is a distinguished member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and has served on the board of governors of the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Software Freedom Law Center, India (sflc.in), and IIMB. At IIMB, he was Chairperson of the Information Systems Area, Computing Facilities Committee, the Digital Learning Initiative of IIMB, and the Centre for Software and IT Management. He was the first President of the India Chapter of the AIS. He has published 4 academic books, over 130 articles in academic outlets, and 2 editions of a textbook. His research spans AI, digital transformation, electronic government, open source, and tele-medicine. He has been recognized as one of the Top Ten AI Researchers in India by Analytics India magazine and received 3 international 'best paper' awards. He has held the Hewlett-Packard Chair Professorship at IIM Bangalore.

4 March, 2025, Bengaluru: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) will host the 6th Human Resources International Conference (HRIC), to be organized by the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management (AOM), from 9th to 11th April 2026. The event will be themed on, ‘Sustainable Human Resource Management in the Age of Disruption’. The conference is ideal for academics, practitioners and students who can share their insights, research and expertise. Papers, symposia and professional development workshop submissions, on a range of topics relevant to the conference theme, are invited.

A Doctoral Colloquium and a Junior Faculty Development Workshop, providing both feedback on research endeavors and specific workshops that will be valuable to doctoral students, will also be held. The colloquium/workshop will comprise a feedback session with peers and senior academics, a seminar on a topic of relevance to doctoral students, and an interactive panel session focused on publishing. The final submission date is 4th August 2025.
About the Conference
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become the next big landscape, which is evolving at an exponential pace. Its versatility has percolated into the domain of Human Resources, where AI-powered tools are increasingly assisting professionals. However, alongside the promise of this disruption, the needs of the employees are evolving, making it imperative to rethink sustainability in HRM and help them navigate the impact. The 6th HRIC aims to redirect the conversations toward disruption in the industry and explore how HRM can be reimagined to equip employees with the right skills and mindset to navigate the major changes dictated by these disruptions. Previous HRIC conferences have been conducted in China, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa.
