17 September, 2025, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) will host the Winter Research Methodology Workshop 2025 from 1st to 6th December 2025, at the IIM Bangalore campus. The workshop, which will be hosted in recognition of the importance of research in today’s academic world, is aimed to benefit academic researchers, specifically PhD students and early career faculty at management institutes/business schools, in the area of research and publication. The six-day winter workshop, which follows successful editions of the Winter and Summer Research Methodology Workshops held in December 2024 and May 2025 respectively, will be anchored by IIMB faculty. The Programme Directors are Prof. Sushanta Kumar Mishra, Chairperson of Research & Publications, Centre for Teaching & Learning and C-DOCTA, Editor-in-Chief of IIMB Management Review and faculty of the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management area, and Prof. Deepak Chandrashekar of the Strategy area. The last date to submit applications is 24th October 2025. The names of shortlisted candidates will be announced on 31st October 2025. Shortlisted candidates, who confirm their registration with programme fee by 14th November 2025, may avail the early-bird offer.

Application Process

Interested PhD candidates/early career faculty need to submit their application via e-mail. The applicants should provide valid proof of registration to a doctoral programme/institutional affiliation. The application must include candidate’s name, designation and institutional affiliation, along with a one-page CV, and a one-page Statement of Purpose (SoP), which plays an important role in the selection of candidates. The application with the relevant documents should be sent from the candidate’s official e-mail ID to: randpworkshop@iimb.ac.in

Content and Structure

The winter workshop will consist of two tracks – Track 1 will include dedicated sessions on Qualitative Comparative Analysis and Network Analysis, whereas Track 2 will consist of dedicated sessions on Event Study Methodology, Applied Econometrics and Game-Theoretic Modelling and Analysis. However, both the tracks will include common sessions on qualitative and quantitative methods, experimental design and meta-analysis. The workshop will also feature a panel discussion with a focus on research and paper development towards publication. Candidates will receive a Certificate of Participation from IIM Bangalore on successful completion of the workshop.
