Admission Process

Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) (MBA) 2026-28

The programme

The Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, henceforth IIMB, is a two-year weekend programme for working professionals leading up to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

Eligibility

The basic criteria for applying to the programme include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Applicants from SC, ST and PwD categories should have a minimum of 45% or equivalent CGPA.1
  • Minimum 6 years of full-time work experience as on March 31, 2026, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Part-time work and internship (paid or unpaid) during a programme of study is not considered as eligible work experience.
  • A valid CAT, GMAT, GRE or IIMB Test score. The test score should be valid as on the date of application submission.

Test scores

Scores from four tests are accepted for admission to PGPEM – CAT, GMAT, GRE and IIMB Test.

  • Applicants who wish to apply through CAT need to indicate in the CAT 2025 application form that they would like to apply for PGPEM at IIMB. For those candidates, CAT 2025 scores made available to IIMB will be used in the assessment of the PGPEM Round-2 application (see below). Please see the CAT website at http://www.iimcat.ac.in for more details on CAT.
  • The IIMB PGPEM code for GMAT is Q9HKK-32. Use this code to have your score sent directly to IIMB. This process is mandatory. Your official score report from Pearson / GMAC (for GMAT) will be used for verification. It is mandatory to submit the official scorecard or the test-taker copy (if official scorecard has not yet been received) along with the application.
  • The IIMB PGPEM code for GRE is 1681.  Use this code to have your score sent directly to IIMB. This process is mandatory. Your official score report from ETS (for GRE) will be used for verification. It is mandatory to submit the official scorecard or the test-taker copy (if official scorecard has not yet been received) along with the application.
  • Note: Online GMAT/GRE score (exam taken at home) will not be accepted for PGPEM 2026-28.
  • Applicants can apply through the IIMB Test, to be conducted by IIMB twice a year, on October 12, 2025 and February 01, 2026. Those opting to appear for the IIMB Test will have to pay a test fee of Rs. 1,200 (non-refundable) in addition to the application fee mentioned below. 1. All information in this document is pertinent to the admissions cycle 2026-28 alone, and therefore no inference can be made from this document about the admissions process that will be used for future admission cycles at IIMB. IIMB reserves the right to change, modify or adopt any new admissions process that it deems necessary, at any point.

2. Applicants who do not have a bachelor’s degree but have completed their CA/ICWA/CS after Class XII, are also eligible to apply for PGPEM 2026-28. The requirement of minimum percentage marks /CGPA is the same as a bachelor’s degree.


Required documents

The documents to be submitted as part of the application process are listed below. Please ensure that all the documents submitted are complete in all respects.

  • SSC, HSC and bachelor’s degree transcripts
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate  
  • GMAT/GRE scorecard, if applicable
  • Statement of purpose (indicating your achievements and future goals)
  • Work experience letters / first and last payslips (indicating the date of joining)
  • SC/ST/NC-OBC/EWS certificate, if applicable
  • Relevant disability certificate for persons with disability (PwD)

Reference letters

Submission of 2 (online) reference letters is mandatory. Provide details (email id and contact details) of two persons as your referees in the on-line application. One reference should preferably be from the current employer or from an individual who is able to evaluate your job performance. References will have to be submitted online by the referees directly on or before the stipulated last date for submission of application.  Please inform the referees accordingly when you approach them for providing references. References are a part of the application and you will be able to submit the application only after the “Reference” section is complete. No separate extension will be allowed for submission of references. References cannot be received/submitted separately.

Application process: Stage I

The PGPEM admission process starts with the submission of the online application form. The online application form can be accessed at https://campus.iimb.ac.in/psp/cssisprd/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG& The application fee of Rs 1,500 is non-refundable and should be paid on-line.

Only those applications that are complete in all respects and meet the minimum academic and other criteria specified above are considered for the next stage in the admission process. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and a writing ability test.

Application process: Stage II

After the interviews, each applicant is assigned a composite score. The score is a composite of multiple factors. The number of offers, which depend on the availability of seats, are made based on this composite score. The number of offers will be further subject to the candidate meeting a minimum cutoff in terms of the composite score and / or any other factor score that the admissions committee may deem fit.

Reservations

IIMB follows reservation for EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD in accordance with the law.

Information sessions

The IIMB marketing team and the admissions team will hold a number of information sessions to disseminate information about PGPEM and to answer questions that potential applicants may have about the programme. Interested applicants may refer to our website and register to attend ().

Important Dates

The selection process for the PGPEM 2026-28 batch will be conducted in two rounds. Candidates can submit their application during any of these two rounds. Candidates should apply in only one round. Candidates found applying in more than one round will be disqualified.

Disputes
