IIM Bangalore wins top honors in the ‘Ornamental Garden Competition’

27 January, 2026, Bengaluru: On the eve of Republic Day 2026, IIM Bangalore was awarded the First Prize in the ‘Ornamental Garden Competition’ conducted by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka. The award was presented by Dr. Pradeep Kenjige, botanist and eminent writer.
This recognition reflects the consistent efforts, dedication and teamwork of the horticulture team of IIMB, which maintains the campus gardens through sustainable practices and enhances its already high standard. The entire IIMB community is also dedicated to keep the academic environment clean, safe and sustainable.
Walking through IIMB is like walking through a green oasis. The chief architect of the campus, Dr. Balkrishna Doshi and his associates, have created a campus that reflects the ethos of the Garden City, Bangalore. IIMB gardens and woods nurture a variety of flora and fauna, including birds and butterflies. A dedicated team from the horticulture section oversees the upkeep of the verdant campus – something for which the Institute has consistently won top honors.
