SPICMACAY-IIMB presents Qawwali Evening by Ustad Ateeq Hussain Khan Bandanawazi on Nov 17
15 November, 2017, Bengaluru: SPICMACAY-IIMB Chapter presents the next in their series of Virasat concerts, a Qawwali Evening, by Ustad Ateeq Hussain Khan Bandanawazi, on 17 November (Friday), 2017, from 6:30 pm onwards, at the Open Air Theatre, IIM Bangalore campus.
Ustad Ateeq Hussain Khan Bandanawazi is the son of Padma Shri recipient Ustad Iqbal Hussain Khan Bandanawazi trained in the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana. He will be accompanied by his group, Bandanawazi Qawwal, who have performed at several prestigious events such as the Delhi Commonwealth Games and the International Sufi Festival, Turkey.
Although entry is free, those coming from outside campus, need to show the poster (as attached) and an ID at the IIMB entrance for security purposes.
SPIC MACAY IIMB works in collaboration with SPIC MACAY Bangalore Chapter to conduct various events. SPIC MACAY IIMB organizes classical music and dance concerts throughout the year, including the flagship event ‘Yamini,' a dusk-to-dawn concert held on the eve of India’s Republic Day. SPIC MACAY IIMB also conducts a variety of classical music classes – violin, Carnatic and Hindustani vocal music –throughout the year. With a deep interest in promoting the arts, the club also conducts workshops on appreciating painting, weaving, sculpture and theatre.
