14 January, 2019, Bengaluru: The 5th Annual Women Leadership Summit will be held at IIM Bangalore on January 27 (Sunday), 2019. Organized by the student-run Women in Management Club (WIM) of IIM Bangalore, the theme for this year is 'Leading and Inspiring Change'. Diversity issues prevalent to both men and women would be discussed during the summit.

This edition of the summit has a stellar line-up of speakers, including Dr Tessy Thomas, known as the ‘Missile Woman of India’, who is the Director General of Aeronautical Systems, DRDO, and the first woman IPS officer of the country Dr Kiran Bedi, the current Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, who will be present at the summit as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

The other keynote speakers include Anjana Vivek (Founder, VentureBean Consulting), Vaishnavi Reddy (Co-founder and Head of Design, Brandstory) and Anuradha Aggarwal (Ex-CMO, Marico Ltd.). The keynote addresses will be focused on the role of women in leading and inspiring change with anecdotes from the personal journey of the speakers.

The summit includes a panel discussion titled: 'What's next: Sustaining Efforts after a Breakthrough'. The panel will have a diverse mix, with Bhavjot Kaur, Co-founder of Clinikk Healthcare, Samina Bano, Founder of RightWalk Foundation and TEDx Speaker, Revathy Ashok, Start-up Evangelist, Public Policy Advocate, Indian Angel Network and Co-founder of Strategy Garage, and Nirupama Kaushik, Consulting Partner, Head of Innovation & Qualitative Practice, Brandscapes Worldwide.

The discussion will be moderated by Professor Pearl Malhotra, faculty from the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management area at IIM Bangalore. The panel discussion will revolve around what it takes to sustain after a breakthrough, be it on the personal, professional or social front. The panel discussion would cover this idea through the panellists’ professional journey.

Professor G Raghuram, Director, IIM Bangalore, will deliver the welcome address. A workshop titled: ‘Joan of Today: An Introduction to an Entrepreneurial Mindset’ will also be held. The creative, design thinking led hands-on interactive workshop aims to balance purpose with passion.​

The Women in Management Club at IIMB, aims at encouraging leadership amongst women, and awareness amongst all students, through activities such as talks, workshops and mentoring. A flagship event of the club is the Women Leadership Summit, which was held for the first time in February 2015.
