IIM Bangalore’s Centre for Corporate Governance & Citizenship to host session on ‘Value Creating Boards: Challenges for Practice and Research’ on January 25
03 January, 2019, Bengaluru: The Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (CCGC) at IIM Bangalore will host an interactive session with Dr Morten Huse, Professor of Organization and Management, Department of Communication and Culture, BI Norwegian Business School, on ‘Value Creating Boards: Challenges for Practice and Research’, on January 25 (Friday), 2019, at 5:30 pm, at the IIMB Management Development Centre (MDC) Conference Room.

Anchoring the discussion from IIMB will be Professor S Raghunath, Chair, Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship, and faculty from the Strategy area, IIMB. The interactive session will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
Professor Huse is visiting IIM Bangalore this month. He is an expert on Corporate Boards, focusing on value creation in Boards, strategic and entrepreneurial management, and good corporate governance. He is an internationally leading scholar on Boards of Directors and Women on Boards. His research is venturesome both with respect to topics and methods, and he has a focus on its contributions to business and society.
Professor Huse has been a visiting professor at universities in a large number of countries, and he is a former President of the European Academy of Management (EURAM). He has also had important offices at the Academy of Management (USA). He has been board chair and board member in several businesses and not-for-profit organizations, including the National Association of Directors in Norway and Catalyst Europe.
At present, his research is being characterized by introspection, programmatic and phenomenological approaches. His research and teaching is based on dialogues and mentoring, and he is mentoring PhD students, scholars and practitioners in several countries. He has worked with politicians and has been speaking in parliaments in several countries. Professor Huse is at present writing a book on how to change the game of doing management research.
