IIMB launches Podcast Series on July 12

In the first episode, Prof. Prateek Raj, from the Strategy area, shares his thoughts on the pandemic’s impact on India’s economy, labour migration, and future challenges as well as opportunities

11 JULY, 2020: The Communications Office and the Student Media Cell of IIM Bangalore announce the launch of the IIMB Podcast Series on July 12th (Sunday). The new podcast series aims to become a platform to discuss the latest business, economic, management and social issues that matter. The Podcast series, which will run twice a month – on the second and fourth Sunday –will witness IIM Bangalore fraternity, including but not limited to the faculty members, alumni and students, provide their insights and perspectives on the topics and issues that surround us. 

The first episode will feature a conversation with Prof. Prateek Raj, from the Strategy Area and Young Faculty Research Chair at IIM Bangalore, who will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy.  

The pandemic has induced an unprecedented economic shock, and we observe rising COVID infections, economic slowdown, a migrant crisis and reverse migration. Prof. Prateek Raj shares his thoughts on the impact on India’s economy, labour migration, and future challenges as well as opportunities. The episode touches upon his recent research work and thoughts on the opportunities to revive the economic engine of the Hindi heartland in the context of reverse migration.
