In the midst of all this, a new breed of business is walking the tight rope to create enormous value by solving fundamental accessibility and affordability challenges for a customer segment that is usually ignored for its lack of disposable income.
In his recently released book, “Inclusive Business Models – Transforming lives & Creating Livelihoods”, Professor Sourav Mukherji details the journey of some of these inclusive businesses that are a hybrid between for-profit and not-for-profit organization. The book, through case studies, illustrates how these organizations are addressing the needs and wants of the base of the pyramid by applying business principles.
