Admissions open for IIM Bangalore’s B.Sc. (Hons) programmes in Data Science and Economics for 2026

The four-year, full-time residential programmes invite applications from 14 October to 20 November 2025
17 October, 2025, Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has begun admissions for its four-year full-time undergraduate degree programmes offered by the School of Multidisciplinary Studies, for the academic year 2026–27. The application window is open from 14 October to 20 November 2025.The residential programmes that have been designed in keeping with the National Education Policy (NEP) will be delivered at the Institute’s upcoming Jigani campus, located approximately 30 km from its Bannerghatta campus.
With this initiative, IIM Bangalore extends its legacy of academic excellence into undergraduate education through two degrees that integrate analytical rigour with applied learning:
- B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics, with a minor in Data Science
- B.Sc. (Hons) in Data Science, with a minor in Economics
Conceived as a pioneering initiative in undergraduate business education, these programmes integrate the strengths of Data Science, Economics, and Business Studies, equipping students to navigate an increasingly data-driven world. The design emphasises conceptual depth, analytical reasoning, and professional readiness through research engagement, internships, and global exposure.
With a total intake of 80 students (40 in each major), the cohort structure enables focused learning, personalised attention, and close faculty interaction within IIMB’s distinctive academic environment.
The IIMB Undergraduate Admissions Test will be held on 13 December 2025, followed by in-person interviews in January 2026. Final offers will be released by 28 February 2026. Admission is contingent upon qualifying the IIMB UG Admissions Test, followed by a personal interview.
Applicants must be 20 years or younger as of 1 August 2026 and should have successfully completed Class XII or an equivalent examination from a recognised board, with Mathematics as a subject in Class XII and a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics in Class X.

A full-time residential programme with an Economics minor, the degree blends rigorous training in stochastic processes, algorithms, data structures, and psychology with applied business learning. The curriculum emphasises real-world application, analytical proficiency, and experiential learning, complemented by internships, global immersion, and leadership development.
The programme leads to the award of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Data Science.
B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics
A full-time residential programme with a Data Science minor, the degree combines economic theory, statistical inference, econometrics, and behavioural insights, underpinned by data mining and applied business learning. Designed for real-world relevance, the curriculum prioritises analytical depth, contextual thinking, and professional readiness through internships, global exposure, and life-skill development.
The programme leads to the award of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics.
