IIMB to host IMR Doctoral Conference (IMRDC) 2022 from Jan 20-22
The three-day event will feature paper presentations by doctoral students and invited talks by leading researchers and academics
18 January, 2022: The 13th annual IMR Doctoral Conference (IMRDC) will be held on 20, 21 & 22, January, 2022. This year’s edition of IMRDC will be online.
IMRDC is an annual doctoral consortium co-organised by IIMB Management Review, IIMB’s flagship academic quarterly, and the Office of the Doctoral Programme at IIMB. IMRDC aims to encourage research and scholarship among doctoral students in Management Science and associated disciplines. The three-day event will feature paper presentations by doctoral students and invited talks by leading researchers and academics.
The objective of IMRDC is to identify and encourage meaningful and interesting research by doctoral students in Management, which includes the areas of Decision Sciences and Information Systems, Economics and Public Policy, Entrepreneurship, Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources Management, Production and Operations Management, and Strategy.
In its first edition, in 2009, the Conference received papers from select institutions, and this year, in its thirteenth edition, IMRDC has received submissions from institutions across India, as also from international universities. After a rigorous, three-round review process, 12 papers have been selected for presentation at the conference. The papers selected for final presentation will have a dedicated discussant to critique the paper and offer comments and constructive feedback.
The keynote speakers at IMRDC 2022 include Prof. Alfonso Flores-Lagunes of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. Dr. Flores-Lagunes’ main research interest is on methods for estimation of causal effects that are relevant to the evaluation of government programmes, and Dr J Ramachandran, Professor of Strategy, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Prof. Ramachandran’s research focuses on the growth and governance challenges of founder-led firms, business groups, emerging market multinationals and multinational subsidiaries.
