The awards will be conferred at IIMB’s 52nd Foundation Day celebrations on October 28, 2025. Each recipient will be felicitated with a citation in recognition of their service and commitment.

The recipients of the IIM Bangalore Alumni Service Award for 2025 are:

  1. Navin Kumar, PGP 1999
  2. Karan Bhagat, PGP 2001
  3. Michael Sequeira, PGP 2010

Navin Kumar
Navin Kumar comes with 30+ years of rich and varied experience working in national and international markets, both as an entrepreneur and as a corporate leader in the tech & talent services space. Over the years, Navin has continued to engage with both his alma mater and the IIMB Alumni Association (IIMBAA). He has been an adjunct/visiting faculty at IIM Bangalore for many years. Naveen was also the convenor for IIMBue 2016, IIMBAA's flagship leadership conclave. Later on, he worked on the idea of an online version of IIMBue, which took the form of IIMBueX during the COVID years. As Vice President of IIMBAA from 2018-2019, he helped establish several policies for laying the foundation of the IIMBAA Trust's workings.

On winning the award, Navin said, “This award is a celebration of the bonds we share as a community. I feel privileged to give back to the institute that gave me so much. I’m grateful to the alumni community for the trust and support that made this recognition possible.”

Karan Bhagat
Karan Bhagat is a first-generation entrepreneur who has remained deeply committed to giving back to his alma mater and strengthening its legacy of leadership and impact. He is the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of 360 ONE, a leading wealth and asset management company in India with over INR 664,000 crores in AUM.

Karan has made significant contributions to IIM Bangalore, supporting its mission to nurture future leaders and make a lasting impact on management education and research in India.

As part of the IIMB alumni network, Karan has been a strong supporter of IIMBue, the IIMB Alumni Association’s flagship leadership conclave that convenes global changemakers, thinkers, and visionaries. He has championed the platform since its inception, recognising its role in fostering dialogue that shapes the future of business and society.

On his nomination for the ASA, he said, “I am truly humbled to receive this award. IIM Bangalore was a transformative journey, instilling in me the courage to take risks, the discipline to persist, and the conviction that purpose must guide ambition. True to its vision, Tejasvi Navadhitamastu, I have sought to put learning into action to create impact. This award is both an honour and a reminder to keep evolving, building, and giving back, while making my alma mater proud.”

Michael Sequeira
Michael Sequeira is a Legal Officer with Sanctuary Group, United Kingdom. Mike, as he is known by his classmates, has visual impairment and belongs to the PGP Class of 2010. His journey at IIM Bangalore was instrumental in shaping the Institute’s approach to accessibility and inclusivity. His experiences and advocacy contributed directly to the establishment of the Office of Disability Services (ODS) in 2010 — the first such office at any IIM.

Michael began his career with Wipro through campus placement. In recognition of his contributions to advancing disability empowerment, he received the National Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in 2012, conferred by the President of India.

As an alumnus, Michael has remained deeply engaged with IIMB, offering mentorship, guidance, and advocacy for students with disabilities. He played a central role in building the Stars of IIM Bangalore group, a platform enabling collaboration between alumni and current students with special needs. He also conceptualized ‘ODS Connect’, an alumni-led initiative amplifying the voices of graduates with disabilities, further positioning IIMB as a leader in campus inclusivity.

Reflecting on the award, he said, “I am elated to receive this recognition from my alma mater. To be honoured for volunteering my time to make a difference for students over the years is deeply meaningful. One of the most transformative moments during my time at IIM Bangalore was the establishment of the Office of Disability Services during my graduating year. I am proud to have contributed to the 'Stars of IIM Bangalore' alumni network that supports the ODS, which has now grown into a vibrant network of more than 150 members. This award is a celebration of the collective impact of everyone who has been a part of these initiatives. I look forward to this recognition inspiring many more alums with disabilities to serve the Institute and contribute their time, efforts and talents.”
