Mizuho India Japan Study Centre at IIMB to celebrate 8th Foundation Day

The guest of honour of the event will be Prof. Tatsuya Terazawa, Chairman and CEO, Institute of Energy Economics, Japan

September 09, Bengaluru, 2025: The Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC), a Centre of Excellence at IIM Bangalore, will celebrate its eighth Foundation Day on September 16, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the IIMB auditorium. This year's focus is on strengthening India-Japan collaborations in business and sustainability, bringing together leaders from academia and industry to mark the occasion.

As part of the academic and industry engagements, Prof. Tatsuya Terazawa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, will deliver the Guest of Honour address on ‘Cooperation between Japan and India in the field of Sustainable Energy Initiatives.’  This will be followed by the keynote speech by Mr. Sandeep Singh, Managing Director of TATA Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd, India, who will speak on ‘India Japan Business Connects.’

The event will open with a welcome address by Prof. Jaideep Sarkar Chairperson, Mizuho India-Japan Study Centre, IIMB, followed by context setting by Saideep Rathnam, Centre’s Chief Operating Officer, MIJSC, IIMB. A video presentation on ‘Milestones @ MIJSC’ showcasing the journey and achievements of the centre will be presented, after which Prof. U. Dinesh Kumar, Director In-charge of IIMB, will share his perspectives on the Centre’s role and vision. The event will also include the release of MIJSC publications in the presence of IIMB’s leadership, distinguished partners, and industry representatives.

The Foundation Day celebrations will conclude with a cultural performance, featuring a classical music fusion that reflects the shared traditions and spirit of collaboration between India and Japan.
