Regenerative medicine has fundamentally reshaped healthcare by moving beyond symptom management toward cell- and gene-based therapies. The session will explore how Japan has emerged at the forefront of this transition through a unique combination of supportive public policy, translational research systems, and strong industry–government collaboration that accelerates scientific discoveries into clinical and commercial outcomes.

The webinar will be delivered by Dr. Masayo Takahashi, President, Vision Care Inc.; Senior Adviser, Kobe City Eye Hospital; Visiting Professor & RARA Fellow, Ritsumeikan University; and Visiting Scientist, RIKEN Baton Zone Program. Internationally recognized as a pioneering physician-scientist in regenerative medicine, Dr. Takahashi is widely known for advancing the clinical application of stem cell-based therapies, particularly in ophthalmology and retinal disease treatment.

The webinar is open to researchers, students, faculty members, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and policymakers interested in the intersections of healthcare innovation, regulation, and cross-border collaboration.
