IIMB Development Foundation to host Donor Reception 2026 on 22nd May
The event will see classrooms and other facilities being dedicated to honor Dr. Indira Rajaraman, Prof. Shyamal Roy and Prof. Sundar Venkatesh, former IIMB faculty
24 April, 2026, Bengaluru: The IIMB Development Foundation (IDF), the fundraising and development arm of IIM Bangalore, will host Donor Reception 2026 on Thursday, May 22, 2026, from 10 a.m. at the IIMB campus. This event celebrates the individuals and organizations whose generous contributions fuel IIMB’s mission to advance management education, research, and societal impact.
The event will commence with a ceremony to dedicate classrooms and other facilities to honor three former IIMB faculty members whose enduring legacies have shaped generations of leaders.
Classroom Q-002 will be dedicated to Prof. Shyamal Roy, Economics and Social Sciences area, whose pioneering work in development economics and public policy inspired transformative research and teaching at IIMB. Classroom Q-003 will be dedicated to Dr. Indira Rajaraman, Economics and Social Sciences area, celebrated for her contributions to fiscal federalism, taxation policy, and economic reforms in India. The Central Pergola will be dedicated to Prof. Sundar Venkatesh, Finance and Accounting area, whose innovative insights on consumer behavior and branding continue to influence global business strategies.
These efforts made possible through IDF’s donor partnerships underscore IIMB’s commitment to immortalizing academic excellence while enhancing world-class learning spaces. Following this, the programme will continue in Classroom N-204 with the speaker sessions and subsequent proceedings.
Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-charge, IIMB, will deliver the welcome address. The Guest of Honor, Sarika Naik, Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, Capgemini Group, will address the audience. As part of the programme, Kiran Keswani, Co-founder of Everyday City Lab, will speak on ‘The Making of a Campus’, drawing from her book ‘The Making of a Campus: IIM Bangalore’, released during the Golden Jubilee Foundation Week celebrations of the Institute in October 2023. The book documents the architectural journey of the IIMB campus and the people who shaped and experienced its spaces over time, while tracing the contributions of architects.
Up next, the ‘Open Floor’ on ‘Imagining Tomorrow Across Sectors’ will feature Dr. Indira Rajaraman, Prof. Shyamal Roy, and Prof. Sundar Venkatesh, and the discussion will be moderated by Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Dean, Alumni Relations & Development, and faculty of the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management area of IIM Bangalore.
This discussion will be followed by the highlight of the event – the felicitation of the donors, whose valuable and generous contributions create opportunities and leave a lasting legacy.
