EPGP Seminar Series on Digital Transformation in the AI Era: Lessons from India’s Innovation Ecosystem on 20 May

16 May, 2026, Bangalore: The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) at IIM Bangalore is set to host the first seminar session of the academic year as part of its EPGP Seminar Series 2026–27, featuring Rakesh Ranjan, Chief Digital Officer, Kyndryl India, and former Chief Digital Officer at Reserve Bank Innovation Hub. The seminar will be held at 5:30 p.m., in Classroom N-201 on 20th May 2026.
Titled ‘Digital Transformation in the AI Era: Lessons from India’s Innovation Ecosystem,’ the session will explore how artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, and emerging technologies are reshaping industries, governance, and financial ecosystems in India. Drawing from his experience across fintech, digital identity, healthcare technology, and innovation platforms, Rakesh Ranjan will share perspectives on building scalable, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystems.
The discussion will explore essential themes such as responsible AI adoption, digital trust, data privacy, governance frameworks, fintech innovation, and the role of public digital infrastructure in enabling large-scale transformation. The session will also examine how organizations can operationalize AI responsibly while balancing innovation, security, compliance, and customer trust in an increasingly data-driven economy.
Currently serving as Chief Digital Officer – Digital Financial Services and Innovation at Kyndryl India, Rakesh Ranjan continues to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, fintech innovation, and public policy, with a focus on building trusted and future-ready digital ecosystems.

About the Speaker
Rakesh Ranjan has over 27 years of experience leading digital transformation and innovation initiatives across finance, healthcare, and skill development sectors, with a focus on building inclusive and impactful technology solutions.
At Reserve Bank Innovation Hub, where he served as Chief Digital Officer (CDO), he led the development of the Unified Lending Interface (ULI) as Enterprise Architect, conceptualized MuleHunter.ai—an AI/ML-based platform for large-scale detection of mule accounts—and also served as Interim CEO, guiding strategic initiatives and ecosystem collaborations.
Prior to RBIH, he served as Senior Head of IT at National Skill Development Corporation, where he drove the modernization of digital infrastructure supporting India’s skilling ecosystem. Earlier, as Founder and Director of Springmedo, he led the design of telemedicine platforms and established partnerships with leading hospitals across Asia and Africa to improve access to medical specialists in underserved regions.
He was also part of the founding team of Aadhaar, contributing to the design and rollout of the Aadhaar-enabled Telecom KYC framework and the conceptualization and development of mAadhaar, the mobile version of Aadhaar.
His work and interests lie at the intersection of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and public policy, with a continued commitment to building scalable, secure, and sustainable digital ecosystems that create meaningful social and economic impact.
