Research paper examines intra-industry spillover effects of corporate green bond announcements in the US

16 December, 2025, Bengaluru: A research paper co-authored by Prof. Varun Jindal, Finance & Accounting area at IIM Bangalore, has been awarded the Best Paper Award (Runner-up) in the Corporate Sustainability and Corporate Governance track at the India Responsible Capital Conference (IRCC), co-located with the India Management Research Conference (IMRC) 2025, hosted by IIM Ahmedabad.

The paper, titled ‘Green Game in Town: Intra-Industry Spillover Effects of Corporate Green Bond Announcements in the US’, is a collaborative undertaking by Prof. Varun Jindal, Sourav Prasad, PhD student at IIM Bodh Gaya, and Prof. Arun Upadhyay, Florida International University. The study examines how corporate green bond announcements generate spillover effects within industries, contributing to the growing empirical literature on sustainable finance and responsible capital markets.

The research project was initiated during Sourav’s visit to IIM Bangalore for his second-year PhD coursework, undertaken as part of the MoU between IIM Bangalore and IIM Bodh Gaya.

The India Management Research Conference is a premier annual forum for management scholars, and the India Responsible Capital Conference, in particular, focuses on advancing research at the intersection of sustainability, governance, and finance.
