IIMB and ISPMA host Software Product Management Summit
Global jury announces Best Papers & Excellence Awards
22 January, 2022: In his address at the SPM Summit India 2022, co-hosted by the Centre for Software and IT Management (CSITM) at IIM Bangalore and the International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA), Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, drew attention to the digital transformation in the country and assured those working towards bridging the digital divide of government support. Dr. Ramana Reddy, IAS officer in charge of IT, underscored the importance of safe, secure and smart products and solutions that resonated with the theme of the summit. Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM, emphasised the need for responsible and inclusive technology.
Prof. Haragopal Mangipudi, Conference Co-Chair and global board member of ISPMA, welcomed the participants and Prof. Sadagopan, Conference Co-Chair and Chairman, ISPMA India, delivered the keynote address. Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore, also addressed the participants.
Three pre-conference workshops were held on January 20. With over 70 participants, all the sessions the workshops conducted by Prof. Haragopal Mangipudi, Muthu Ranganathan, Abhijit Bendigiri and Tathagat Varma were interactive and informative.
The summit had Academic/Research and Industry tracks. There were several presentations, panel discussions and fireside chats with industry leaders
Best Paper Awards
The winners of the best paper presentations were announced by Prof. Shankhadeep Banerjee, Professor in the Information Systems area and Chairperson of CSITM, IIM Bangalore.
The Best Projects in the IIMB Student Showcase were Avalara Inc.: Taxation and Compliance by Hardik Sanghavi, Shrey Ostwal, Samarth Yadav and Sudipto Nan, and Videoken: Digital Product Analysis by Abhigna Banda, Gayathri Venkatesh, Manasa Kashyap and Aarthi Sree Mundla.
The Best Industry Paper was won by Monojit Basu for his paper, ‘Developer Experience for Software Platforms: Short Case Studies and a few Key Lessons’.
The Best Research Paper (Second Runner-up) was awarded to Venisha Jenifer D’mello and Dr. Ambigai Rajendran for their paper, ‘Investigating Learner Engagement in Online Learning Platform through Technology Adoption – Application of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT)’.
The Best Research Paper (First Runner-up) was won by Purnima Bhatnagar and Amoli Tadiparthi for their paper, ‘The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Marketing: A review of Literature’.
The Best Research Paper award went to Bhawna Parewa and Priya Gupta for their paper, ‘A Systematic Review and Bibliometric Analysis of Blockchain Application in Consumer Service’.
SPM Excellence Awards
The jury for the Excellence Awards comprised Hans-Bernd Kittlaus, Chairman, ISPMA, Venkatesh Balakrishnan, Manager, CSITM, IIMB, Sanjai K, Partner E&Y, and Andrey Meglyas, MD, Maglyas Consulting, Russia. The winners were AppSentinels API Security platform from Appsentinels, Talent intelligence platform from Eightfold AI, Quickbooks Desktop from Intuit Quickbooks, and Finacle Virtual Banking from Infosys Edgeverve. A Special Jury Award for Outstanding SPM Practice was awarded to Vuram Technologies.
