The conference, titled, ‘State Capacity: What is it and why is it needed?’, included paper presentations, speaker sessions and panel discussions on diverse topics related to state capacities. The conference aimed to bring together Public Policy scholars and practitioners not only from India but also from across the world through high-quality academic research and policy case studies.

The conference was divided mainly into the following panels: Collaborative Governance; State and Patriarchy; Post-Covid Health System Governance in India; Administrative Backsliding, and Sustainable Energy Transition and State Capacity.

Manoj chose the ‘Administrative Backsliding’ panel and submitted the abstract on: ‘People, Politics, and Social Media: Understanding Administrative Backsliding from Grassroots’. According to him, the topic reflected what he had experienced during District Immersion. After the abstract selection, he submitted the final paper and presented it at the conference.
