Professor Trilochan Sastry honoured by IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and Times of India Social Impact Awards

Professor Trilochan Sastry recently received the Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. This Award was instituted by IIT Kanpur in memory of their alumnus Mr. Satyendra K. Dubey for his exemplary life and supreme sacrifice. The award was conferred on Dr Sastry in his capacity as the Founder Chairman, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

Professor Sastry's contributions to public life through ADR campaigns were recognized at the Times of India Social Impact Awards 2012.  The Award Ceremony was presided over by the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. Several Cabinet Ministers and leaders of various political parties were present. The jury consisted of eminent persons including Nandan Nilekani, JM Lyngdoh, Aruna Roy, Anu Aga.

Professor Sastry received the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in the year 2012. Earlier in 2005 he had received the Outstanding Contribution to National Development Award from IIT Delhi as well. ADR pioneered and spearheads nationwide work on Electoral and Political Reforms by partnering with over a 1000 organizations, media, Election Commission and eminent individuals. The work was triggered off by ADR winning public interest litigation (PIL) mandating disclosure of candidate assets, liabilities, educational qualifications, and criminal record, if any.
