31 October, 2022, Bengaluru: The Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC) at IIM Bangalore will host Prof. Punit Rathore, faculty at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and researcher at the Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems (RBCCPS) and the Centre for infrastructure, Sustainable Transportation and Urban Planning (CiSTUP), at the centre’s flagship lecture series ‘Tatsujin-Speak’, that is, ‘Expert-Speak’, on 4th November 2022 (Friday), from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The webinar is titled, ‘Transportation Revolution through AI: An Advanced Data Science Approach to Mobility’.
In this hour-long virtual-mode session, Prof. Rathore will provide an overview of the advances in Data Science that is leading to a virtual transportation revolution through use of Artificial Intelligence tools. He will also discuss the social factors that would impact our society in the coming decades.

DR. PUNIT RATHORE
Faculty at IISc Bangalore and Researcher at Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems (RBCCPS) and Centre for infrastructure, Sustainable Transportation and Urban Planning (CiSTUP)
Before joining IISc, Dr. Rathore worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Senseable City Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA and at the Grab-NUS AI Lab, National University of Singapore (NUS).
Dr. Rathore completed his PhD from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Melbourne, Australia in January 2019.
Prior to his PhD, Dr. Punit worked as a researcher in the Automation Division at Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, where he developed several real-time systems based on Machine Learning and Machine Vision for manufacturing industries. His research work has been internationally recognized with multiple best-paper awards at top IEEE conferences and best thesis prizes by IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMC) and Melbourne School of Engineering, the University of Melbourne.
His current research interests are in unsupervised learning, streaming data analytics, urban mobility analytics, and data-driven techniques for IoT, transportation and autonomous systems.
