Prof Vasanthi Srinivasan receives Distinguished Alumnus Award from alma mater XLRI

IIMB’s OBHRM professor receives award under the ‘Academician’ category during the two-day celebrations held on 10th & 11th December

13 December, 2016, Bengaluru: Professor Vasanthi Srinivasan from the Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Management area of IIM Bangalore has won the Distinguished Alumnus Award from her alma mater Xavier School of Management (XLRI). She was felicitated during the two-day celebrations of ‘Annual Homecoming 2016’ at XLRI, held on 10th & 11th December, 2016, which saw around 250 alumni participate this year.

Eight eminent alumni of XLRI received the Distinguished Alumnus Awards in five categories this year.
Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, from the PMIR 1987 batch of XLRI, received the award under the ‘Academician’ category.

The research interests of Prof. Srinivasan, who is the Chairperson of Alumni Relations at IIMB, as well as the Chairperson of Ethics and Code of Conduct, are in the fields of multi-generations in the workplace, women in management and boards, ethics teaching in business schools, HRM in rapid growth organizations and ethics, and CSR in micro, small and mid-sized enterprises.

In her acceptance speech, Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan said, “Coming from a family where I am the first woman, both from my maternal and paternal side, to join college and get a professional degree, XLRI taught me to dream. At XLRI, I saw passion and personal excellence in every faculty member who taught me. Fr. McGrath, Professors Kamala Mathur, Nilima Acharji, CGK Nair, Gangopadhyay and D K Modi inspired me.”
