Prof. Nishant Kumar Verma's co-authored paper accepted for publication in International Journal of Production Economics
Paper titled ‘Evaluating the Ecosystem Facilitating Agriculture Technology Adoption in Emerging Economies’ is co-authored with IIMB PhD alum
1 June, 2026, Bengaluru: A paper titled, ‘Evaluating the Ecosystem Facilitating Agriculture Technology Adoption in Emerging Economies’, co-authored by Prof. Nishant Kumar Verma, Chairperson of Career Development Services and faculty of the Production & Operations Management area, has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Production Economics.
The research has been co-authored with Dr. Shiril Saju, former Doctoral student of IIMB, who is currently serving as faculty at Masters' Union School of Business.
At IIMB, Prof. Nishant Kumar Verma teaches the core course on Operations Management, and offers an elective on Project Management in the Post Graduate Programme in Management. His doctoral research included the analysis of various flexibility issues in supply chains. This includes the study of flexible replenishment policies in the context of Vendor Managed Inventory and the flexibility requirements of manufacturing firms in general and manufacturing start-ups in particular. His other research interests include event studies in Operations Management and issues in Supply Chain Management. Currently, he is working on sustainability, disruption management and product modularity issues.
At IIM Calcutta, while pursuing the Fellow Programme in Management, he achieved the highest CGPA in coursework. He has also been awarded the IIM Calcutta Alumni Association (Mumbai Chapter) best publication award for a doctoral student.
Prof. Verma has been a reviewer at Decision Support Systems (DSS), European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), Information Systems Frontiers (ISF), and the Annual International Conference of Society of Operations Management. His research has been published in journals such as Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, IISE Transactions, International Journal of Production Economics, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Information Systems Frontier, and Computers & Industrial Engineering.
